Department of Art and Design<\/a> students in ARTX 298: Textiles<\/a> had the opportunity to learn directly from industry professional Erich Soldat, owner of Erich Soldat Textile Agency, LLC (European Textiles)<\/a>. His agency has represented leading European mills for more than 20 years, supplying couture houses, designers, and brands across North America with luxurious, innovative, and specialty fabrics. Based in New York\u2019s Garment District, the agency is known for its curated selection of laces, embroideries, jacquards, novelty weaves, and embellishments, as well as its commitment to hands-on service from sampling through production.<\/p>\n

Mr. Soldat visited both sections of ARTX 298, taught by Professor Julie Panchu and Dr. Michelle Burton<\/a>, to deliver two engaging lectures that connected classroom learning with industry practice:<\/p>\n
