The ADP Center for Learning Technologies recently hosted a group of adult learners
\nfrom Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Township\u2019s Lifelong Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ program. Life Long Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ (LLM) is an aging in
\nplace initiative with the mission of transforming the community experience through events,
\nprogramming and relationship building.<\/p>\n
The event began with a presentation about the history and evolution of virtual reality
\ntechnology, followed by a hands on demonstration that transported participants to the distant
\nancient Inca ruins of Machu Pichu and to the Arctic.<\/p>\n
The hands-on demonstration, led by ADP Center Director Joe Bavazzano and a team of
\ngraduate students, let participants interact with a range of VR tools. Google Cardboard Viewers
\nand Meta Quest 2 Headsets were provided to let participants dive in to an immersive world.
\nParticipant Sharron Allen shared, \u201cExperimenting with something new is always exciting. The
\nexperience with Joe and his team was educational and fun!\u201d Another LLM member, Jennifer
\nMarkham, commented \u201cIt was an entertaining and an all-inclusive bonding and fun experience
\nwith friends and the helpful, knowledgeable team of instructors at MSU.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reflecting on the experience of the day Bavazzano stated \u201cThe Center is always looking to
\npartner with the community and bring educational experiences outside the walls of a
\ntraditional classroom setting. No matter the age or background of the learner, technology can
\nchange the way we look at our world to increase our potential for learning.\u201d
