Each year, a faculty advisory committee will select a book to be read by all incoming first-year students before they arrive. For the 2011 selection, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Book Faculty Advisory Committee chose <em>The Geography of Bliss<\/em>, by Eric Weiner. After meeting throughout the fall and deciding on four finalists (from approximately 20 books), the committee unanimously selected <em>The Geography of Bliss<\/em>. The committee believes the book is an inspired choice because it will reinforce Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ State\u2019s global learning objectives, provide opportunities for students to learn about other cultures and explore differences, give faculty ways to approach a particular text from multiple disciplinary perspectives, and enhance our reputation for innovation.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>See the <a href=\"\/center-for-writing-excellence\/montclair-book\/\">Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Book<\/a> website for more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Book 2011 is a new program for the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ State community.
