We are thrilled to invite you to the inauguration of our new\u00a0Center for Latino Heritage and Spanish Language Excellence (CLaSE)<\/em>, a vibrant space dedicated to celebrating Latino and Indigenous cultures and advancing Spanish language skills. Join us as we open doors to transformative programs, including our Spanish Writing Center, Certificates in Spanish for the Career, Latino Oral History Project, and the Latin American Indigenous Collaborative. The inauguration will be led by Indigenous leaders from diverse communities, featuring the construction of the Andean “chakana” and a powerful ancestral initiation ceremony that welcomes and involves everyone present. The event will be in Spanish, Kichwa and English.<\/p>\n

10:00 AM | La Chakana Creation<\/strong>
\nJoin our Indigenous communities in creating la Chakana with fruits, grains, and flowers. This Andean cross symbolizes a bridge between worlds and the beginning of a journey.<\/p>\n

11:30 AM | Ancestral Inaugural Ceremony<\/strong>
\nThe inauguration ceremony starts and will be led by the Yachuk (an Indigenous leader) in Kichwa and Spanish (with English translation through slides)<\/p>\n

12:00 PM | Presentation of CLaSE<\/strong>
