The award ceremony took place in the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel on March 2, 2024, and WMSC was awarded first place in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best Live Broadcast Promotional Event \u2013 WMSC Homecoming (WMSC Unplugged)<\/li>\n<li>Best Program Promotion \u2013 The Vinyl Countdown<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Music and Web Director Emily \u201cEmol\u201d McCormack is the creator of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Cxk9tbmOTFe\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\">WMSC Homecoming\u00a0<em>WMSC Unplugged<\/em><\/a>\u00a0promotional poster for the station\u2019s two-hour-long performance for Homecoming 2023.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have such a fun, dedicated crew that worked towards such an amazing episode of our live music show. I am so proud to be bringing this awesome award back to the station and share with the whole team!\u201d said McCormack.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly Meagher, former Video Director, was the creator of <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/jWsdR9vkv38?si=EpnNRC8Ob_qGwONi\"><em>The Vinyl Countdown<\/em> promotional video<\/a> starring former Program Director and host Leslie Gallagher.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Video: The Vinyl Countdown - Video Showmo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jWsdR9vkv38?feature=oembed\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen style=\"width: 500px; height: 281px; border: 0px solid #000;\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A total of 50 WMSC members attended the IBC conference in New York City the weekend of March 1-2, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>90.3 WMSC-FM was nominated in <a href=\"https:\/\/wmscradio.com\/wmsc-earns-a-record-sixteen-nominations-for-intercollegiate-broadcasting-system-awards\/\">14 other categories<\/a>, including Best College\/University Radio Station (more than 10,000), Best Live Music Broadcast, Best Specialty Show (Non-Music), Best Celebrity or Artist\/Band Interview, Best Radio Drama, Best Public Affairs Program, Best Spot News Interview, Best Use of Sound Effects, Best Comedy Program, and Best Station Promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Management categories up for nomination were Best Student Station Manager, Best Promotions Director, Best Sports Director, and Best Business Director.<\/p>\n<p>WMSC has been a finalist in the \u201cBest College\/University Radio Station (more than 10,000)\u201d category every year since 2018, and was named Best Station in the Nation in 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WMSC earns two awards at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards (IBS) 2024.
