The transfer of naive extra animals or animals that are no longer needed on a study protocol and that can be re-utilized in another study protocol is encouraged. This practice is an effective application of the 3Rs.<\/p>\n
Animals can be transferred from one research protocol or PI to another pending the review and approval of the IACUC administration\/attending veterinarian. Note: The Donating PI must include animal transfers within the applicable IACUC protocol(s), specifically in response to the \u201cdisposition\u201d question in Section O. The Receiving PI must include \u201cother PI\u2019s\u201d as a source in Section E.<\/p>\n
