{"id":158,"date":"2018-02-28T14:58:06","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T19:58:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/faculty-handbook\/?page_id=158"},"modified":"2019-03-28T11:52:13","modified_gmt":"2019-03-28T15:52:13","slug":"intercollegiate-athletics","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/faculty-handbook\/facilities-and-support-services\/intercollegiate-athletics\/","title":{"rendered":"Intercollegiate Athletics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/montclairathletics.com\">Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Athletics<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Panzer Athletic Center<br \/>\nTelephone: 973-655-5234<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ State Athletic Program is operated in accordance with the NCAA Division III philosophy adopted by the membership of Division III in 1983.\u00a0 Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ State offers 18 sports (8 men, 10 women).\u00a0 Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women, the Metropolitan Collegiate Athletic Conference (swimming and diving), the Colonial States Athletic Conference (men&#8217;s lacrosse), and the National College Athletic Association.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s varsity program includes basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, track (indoor), track (outdoor), volleyball and cross country.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s intercollegiate sports are baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer, track (indoor), track (outdoor) and swimming.<\/p>\n<p>Facilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Panzer Athletic Center<\/strong>&#8211;Six lane pool, fitness center, athletic training facility, gymnasium for varsity basketball and women&#8217;s volleyball, and an auxiliary gymnasium. Home to Exercise Science and Physical Education and Intercollegiate Athletics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sprague Field<\/strong>&#8211;Field turf; seating for six thousand; permanent lighting system (all home football, men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s lacrosse, and field hockey games scheduled at this facility).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pittser Field<\/strong>&#8211;Field turf complex. Home to men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s varsity soccer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dioguardi Field<\/strong>&#8211;Lighted eight-lane synthetic surface track and practice field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Softball Stadium<\/strong>&#8211;Softball stadium field used for varsity competition.
