{"id":218055,"date":"2022-05-10T12:00:04","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T16:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/?p=218055"},"modified":"2022-06-01T16:08:04","modified_gmt":"2022-06-01T20:08:04","slug":"montclair-and-hudson-sign-joint-academic-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2022\/05\/10\/montclair-and-hudson-sign-joint-academic-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and Hudson Sign Joint Academic Agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new academic agreement between Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hccc.edu\/\">Hudson County Community College (HCCC)<\/a> will allow associate degree students to plan their total baccalaureate experience at the beginning of their college career and seamlessly transfer into corresponding bachelor\u2019s degree programs at the University.<\/p>\n<p>Signed last month at the HCCC campus in Jersey City, the agreement, which is effective for the fall 2022 semester, builds upon the spirit of the Lampitt Law and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u2019s Dual Enrollment\/Automatic Transfer Agreement by guaranteeing admission to those who meet designated criteria and offering HCCC graduates a clear path to continuing their journey in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson County Community College, which offers its academic programming to some of the most diverse communities in the state, shares a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/hispanic-initiatives\/\">Hispanic-Serving Institution designation with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ<\/a>. The school\u2019s enrollment in fall 2021 was 6,776, with 78% of the student body identifying as minority.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson students transferring to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ must be in good academic standing and have the minimum GPA required for their program of study. The students must also go through Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u2019s transfer process and meet all requirements and deadlines pertaining to the application for admission.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The expansion of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ&#8217;s partnership with Hudson County Community College furthers the University&#8217;s commitment to excellence and to providing affordable, accessible options for students to earn a degree,&#8221; says Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Junius Gonzales. &#8220;We look forward to welcoming additional Hudson students and providing them with the resources and support needed for them to thrive both at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and after graduation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to expand our partnership with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. This agreement further opens the doors for HCCC students to pursue direct pathways to attain their baccalaureate degrees,\u201d says HCCC President Christopher M.
