We do anticipate some initial delays as schedules settle and visitors adjust.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Traffic Awareness<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Traffic peaks during class change times and free periods. Follow the directions of officers and crossing guards to keep things moving smoothly.<\/li>\n<li>Speed limits: 25 mph on campus roads, 15 mph on College Avenue, and 5 mph in parking areas. Speeding violations are strictly enforced, with penalties determined by municipal court.<\/li>\n<li>Be patient and courteous; aggressive driving won\u2019t get you anywhere faster.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Pedestrian Safety<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Slow down, stay off your phone, and watch for pedestrians.<\/li>\n<li>Drivers must stop for pedestrians at crosswalks until they have fully crossed.<\/li>\n<li>Pedestrians should use crosswalks and avoid distractions like cell phones while crossing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Campus Drop-Off Zones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>We recognize many have to drop off students or staff &#8211; to keep traffic moving be sure the person being dropped off is in the passenger seat and that you have items you need with you rather than the trunk if possible.<\/li>\n<li>College Ave roadway, NJ Transit Bus stops, Lot 31 (School of Business) are not areas of unloading or waiting.<\/li>\n<li>When you pull over in an active roadway to drop off a passenger you are creating traffic, you are endangering your safety in the vehicle and that of the passenger being dropped. Pull into an adjacent parking lot or designated drop off areas along College Avenue that have curbing designed to pull in off the roadway.<\/li>\n<li>If you are blocking a lane of traffic to either pick up or drop off a passenger, expect to be moved along by police as you can create a serious traffic hazard in areas like Cole Hall, Panzer Gymnasium, Red Hawk Deck, the Student Center and the Bohn\/Blanton quad area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>&#8220;Authorized Vehicles Only&#8221; Zones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Only authorized vehicles are permitted in certain campus areas. Violations can result in fines, towing, or other penalties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Safe Passing Law<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Drivers must move over a lane or slow to 25 mph when passing others, allowing a 4-foot distance. This law applies on and off campus, with penalties for violations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Safety First<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Our top priority is your safety. We all play a part in maintaining a secure and respectful environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other Resources &amp; Reminders<\/h2>\n<h3>NJ Transit Passes<\/h3>\n<p>Are you taking the bus, train, or light rail to campus? All Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students are eligible to receive an NJ Transit monthly pass at 25% off of the regular monthly pass when they enroll online through the NJ Transit Quik-Tik program! <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/commuter-students\/commuter-resources\/transportation\/\">Get on TRACK with Quick-Tik!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Carpool to Campus<\/h3>\n<p>Looking to carpool to campus. <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/montclair.rideshark.com\/public\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Sign in to Ride Shark <\/strong><\/a>with your NetID to find other students who are carpooling to campus. You can even earn extra money as a driver!<\/p>\n<h3>Campus Shuttle App: TripShot!<\/h3>\n<p>TripShot is your shuttle app to check schedules and routes in real time. Whether you are heading to class or taking a shopper shuttle, TripShot will allow you to track shuttle locations easily and determine their upcoming arrivals. <a href=\"http:\/\/montclair.tripshot.com\/\">Download the App Today<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/facilities\/our-services\/shuttle-services\/\">Learn More about Shuttle Services.<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ \/ Bloomfield Shuttle Service! Beginning the first day of school, shuttles will now run on a 30-minute loop to and from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and Bloomfield campuses, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. &#8211; 7 p.m.!<\/li>\n<li>Night Hawk On-demand Shuttle Services: Night Hawk is the new on-demand shuttle service designed to get you where you need to go safely and quickly Tuesday &#8211; Saturday, 10 p.m. &#8211; 2 a.m. No more waiting around at night! Just request a ride through the Tripshot app, where you can also get around-the-clock live updates on shuttle locations, ETAs, routes and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Personal Electric Vehicles<\/h3>\n<p>The popularity of personal electric vehicles such as electric bikes and electric scooters (e-bikes and e-scooters) has taken off over the past few years. Storage of these vehicles inside any Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ owned or operated building (including Residence Halls) or other facility is strictly prohibited due to the risk of fire and\/or explosion.
