The fall 2016 spring semester is abound <\/span>with innovative <\/span>theatre and dance productions that showcase the immeasurable talent <\/span>of students <\/span>in the Department of Theatre and Dance\u2019s <\/span>Theatre and Dance Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The semester opens with two performances from Hearts of Men<\/a><\/em>, the intergenerational dance workshop that features men of all ages and backgrounds. To kick off the student production season in October, Theatre students present Aida<\/a><\/em>, a stunning musical by Elton Jon and Tim Rice, based on Verdi\u2019s opera set in ancient Egypt. The heartbreaking Iphigenia at Aulis<\/a><\/em> by Euripides is a timeless classic that will captivate audiences in early November. <\/p>\n Dance students continue to shine in Works-A-Foot<\/a><\/em> with groundbreaking works by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ State faculty and guest choreographers such as 2016 Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Camille Brown, and Mark Morris, \u201cthe most successful and influential choreographer alive, and indisputably the most musical,\u201d as hailed by the New York Times<\/em>. <\/p>\n In December, laugh-out-loud at The 25th Annual County Spelling Bee<\/a><\/em>, where over-achieving youngsters compete in the cutthroat competition of a lifetime.<\/p>\n
